Microchipping
It is a legal requirement to have any dog over the age of 8 weeks, or cat over the age of 20 weeks of age microchipped and the owner details kept up to date. Under the new law, cat owners will have until 10th June 2024 to microchip their cats. Owners found not to have microchipped their dog or cat will have 21 days to get one implanted or they could receive a fine of up to £500. It is a quick and painless injection to insert and implant a microchip (around the size of a grain of rice) under the skin on the back of the neck. You can find copies of my formal qualifications and insurance on our FAQ's page. I also carry a valid DBS check.
